Olga Prusak
Olga Prusak born in 1987 in Vitebsk, Belarus. Got the higher education in Belarussian State University, International Relationships department with a degree in Culturology.
2016 – The start of playwriting career. The first play “The Same Thing” got Tom Stoppard Prize for the brightest debut in playwrighting (International Biennale "Free Theatre"). Wrote more than 10 plays, most of them are staged by the independent theatre projects (Belarussian Free Theatre, HUNCH theatre), but some are also staged by the state Belarussian theatres. Took part in various theatrical projects (Goethe Institute programmes - "Literaturfestival LIT: Postdam"), PEN residences and festivals (International Youth Theatrical Forum of CIS countries, Baltic states and Georgia).
The latest premiere was the show “Scattering Ravens”, it took place at the first Belarussian-Jewish festival in Minsk. The play is dedicated to Moishe Kulbak, Belarussian-Jewish poet shot in 1937 by the soviet power.
Since 2017 also works as the independent documentary films' director.
